Set high on the Cordais plateau, there are wonderful walks or cycle rides from the house through the vines, woods, and villages. Nearby vineyards offer "degustations" (tastings) of their wines and colourful local markets sell regional produce.

The local village of Cordes sur Ciel is a medieval bastide town, full of artists' studios, restaurants, and shops. Nearby Albi houses the Toulouse Lautrec museum and famous cathedral. The whole of the Tarn is an area rich in historic and cultural interest

Physical pursuits are many. A favourite is to canoe or kayak down the Aveyron river at St Antonin Noble Val. There is tennis in Cordes, water slides at Le Garisou, horse riding and golf all close at hand. Or just cruise gently down the Tarn
